Twelfth Post: A Small Update

I am back! Senior year is approaching. I will write more daily journal on this blog (only if I have time). Comparing freshman year with senior year will be interesting! I grew more mature mentally. I understand more about life, such as friendship and relationship.

I hope senior year is as fun as freshman year. Even more, I want senior year to be more intriguing than freshman year! Omg, I think the above sentences are too wordy..

Saturday 7/30: I went to the CodeNow workshop at Visa's headquarters at Foster City. That place is magnificently beautiful! The scenery is epic. I also met friends and a good mentor in the workshop. Puneet is a good teacher; he went above and beyond in his lectures. I learned some new techniques in coding, such as the camelCase.

I am so glad I went to the workshop because I met really awesome people.

First, Alim is awesome. He creates diss tracks. Nice stuff! We ate together during lunch time. He was hilarious! I am glad I met him, but he did not come on the last workshop, which is on 7/30 >.<. I had a tiny crush on him. However, he is too young! Only going to sophomore year... I don't like to date people younger than me....

Second, Mohit is considered my all-time friend at the workshop. We were kind of shy in the beginning; we both did not initiate talking with each other until Alim, his bestie, talked to me. He is going to Cal Poly. His fashion sense is daebak. Clean, professional outfits impressed me. He sure is a fashionisto. He is also so tall and calm, just like a prince ^_^. Haha. Also, he is such a gentleman. He let me get on and off the bus first. Since Alim did not come the last day, we hung out during lunch time and breaks. We rode BART together in the end. It was very nice to know him. In the end, I developed a crush on him. I guess? Like a small one?

Third, Veronica is smart. She is also an avid Pokemon Go player. She plays Pokemon Go during breaks. She is a good speaker and a good coder. I wish I talked to her more.

Last, Zaynah is generous. She went to Lowell, and gradated this year, heading to CCSF. She also joined GWC the year I joined. We actually kind of knew each other before the workshop. I like her spirit. She is a kind person. I like talking to her. I hope we can talk more.

The last day of the workshop was fun because I GOT SOME FREEBIES! Visa was generous to give us backpacks with battery chargers, caps, pens with styluses, DVDs, water bottles, and notebooks. This workshop really helped me in both coding and networking.

Thank you, CodeNow! :)

Alright, for now, let's lay back and chill out. Stay positive and confident!

Eleventh Post: The Revival

Time goes by fast... I still remember 2014 as yesterday. When I looked back at my previous posts, I felt a sudden nostalgia followed by embarrassment (due to my horrible grammar >.<). I did not realize the amount of activities I did during my freshmen year. It's almost senior year now. College apps and standardized tests will sure be bugging me for the first half of the school semester.

How long will I be back to the blog?
That's a good question. I don't know.

Keep being confident and dream on. :)

Tenth Post: Apologies for the Late Post

This blog is written a week ago... Haven't have time to post it until now.

I haven’t forget about the blog! It’s just that I’m too busy this summer doing interships, volunteer works, and try to have fun at the same time!I’m acutally working right now! See, I really don’t have time but no matter how busy I am, I will still try to update this blog as often as possible. Anyways, happy summer!! :) I currently have lots of things for me to get done. Such as helping with chores as well as doing work at the same time. This year, Lum Lum is going to Chinese school!! lol. But only in PinYin class. As the teacher said, just give her a bigger chair to sit on! Lol. I found that funny. Since my schedule is busy this summer, I most spend my  time outside of home. Luckily, I get to chill on Saturdays and Sundays. I don’t even get what I am supposed to do in my intership at the financial district. I am just sitting here and typing and doing research and no one will care about it… But there is good food! MY motivation!! :) Besides that, BORING! I get really sleepy sitting here and looking at the computer. I always fall asleep here, but I never do it in Betty Ong. Oh, Betty Ong is an awesome place to be. I mean, it’s not as bad as I think it would be. I’ve met fabulous and awesome people that I can talk to and even though the kids can be a bit lousy, I enjoy watching them play. Most importantly, there is free food! By the way, watching the weight room was both fun and boring thing to do. Fun because I get to watch people workout and learn from them and meet some strangers. Boring because I just sit there to make sure people won’t steal equipments.
This entry will be the longest out of all the other ones hopefully. I want to make up the days I have been  missed and try to include bits of fun days into this entry. This summer is awesome! Got to go to DD’s and buy some cheap clothing but it was also kind of expensive. Writing this journal keeps me awake. ^o^
Oh, should I sing “it’s Friday, Friday! Gotta go down on Friday?” It’s Friday today! Will be having an interview at Heron's Head Park tomorrow! (Add. Info: I failed the interview! I stuttered too much and didn't feel like to work there? I guess I bombed the interview on purpose, since I have two internships now. Still, I am feeling good and happy. :) ) Bye! I will try to update this blog as often as possible like I said before.
Talk to you later. Stay in focus! PPece (from Falcon Lover) LOL!!! XD

Ninth Post: SUMMER TiME :)

Hand-made Wood Coaster!! :)

Hey!! Haven't post for the last couple of weeks. My apologies. Finals were stressing, so I studied from day to night.. Whatsoever, finals were finished!! I got pretty decent grades too!! Proud of myself! It's summer time now. I have lots of volunteer works and internships to do! I love this summer! It must be really fun! I made wood coasters today and they turned out to be fabulous. Went to Great America yesterday!! Super fun!!! It was actually me first time trying the Grizzly and the Gold Striker. Couldn't imagine that I tried the roller coasters. I used to avoiding, but after I tried the Drop Tower last year, I'm not scare of those anymore! Oh, please don't try going on the Orbit..it was not fun and I was really dizzy after. I made wishes on the Celebration Swing. Took pictures of the beautiful fountain at the entrance while riding the horse. I really enjoyed playing bumper car.. made me feel that I was good at driving. Great America was really fun. Thanks to CYC and MYEEP for sponsoring this field trip :)! It will be an elated summer! Let me jot down my finals grades, in case I forgot them when I want to know them..
Math: 67 (I mean... really.. that was pretty bad. But fortunately, with my other trimester grades, my final grade is an A)
English: A (Mr. Hereford was generous enough to give all of us As)
PE: don't know; need to wait for the report card
World History: A 100.89% (happy!! studied hard for the finals)
Biology: A- (got an A- on finals but an A for semester grade)
Spanish: A (recitation..don't need to worry that much)
Health: 95% (I don't know if she was generous and gave us a good grade or did I really deserve that grade?)
Anyways, past is the past. I have to think about the present. Need to get a lot of things signed and done for the BizAcademy internship in the summer...
I should change the name of this blog once again. It should be named FREE TIME BLOG. Lol..temporary name and makes absolutely nonsense.
Stay chill and be safe in summer!

Eighth Post: A Sum Up of the Weeks

Sorry for not posting for the past few weeks!! I've been really busy lately with extracurricular activities, homework, tests, projects, finals, and of course, procrastination...

To summarize, I'll just bullet point what I've done in these past few weeks.

  • 5/3 Saturday: failed to call Exploratorium at 10 am, even though I called continuously for an hour. :( :( Why...just why?? I will definitely call in at 9:59 am next time!!
  • 5/10 Saturday: had a fun time at Summer Job+ Fair!! Learned lots of skills..I guess.
  • 5/17 Saturday: got rejected by Greenagers :( Why again?! Am I that bad at interviews? I got rejected by Peer Mentor before, and now..Greenagers?! Hope they reply my email back with suggestions that I can improve on.
I was about to volunteer today, but I fell back to sleep after the alarm was off. I NEED to learn do things on time and not to procrastinate!

Seventh Post: The Biweekly Post

Last day of MYEEP workshop
Had two interviews the last two days: Greenagers and BAY. They were great experiences and I learned to prepare for future interviews too. I still cannot forget how I did at the Peer Mentor interview..*face palm* It has been two weeks that I haven't post any entries due to my busy schedule. I will be having a History test on human rights violations around the world in the 20th century. Tough work..I have to memorize all the information in less than a week along with my other homework and activities.

Because I had to go to CYC to turn in my Great America field trip form (only the first 20 early birds get to go for free :)) on Wednesday and had an interview on Thursday, I wasn't able to listen to the student presentations for the Science Research Club. I really want to see how they did. Oh well.. can't rewind time. OH.. as I mentioned, I will be going to Great America and sure not, I will post the pictures too!

Tuesday was the last day of MYEEP workshop :( But I got to eat a lot of delicious food =D I really have to thanks MYEEP for everything. Everything I am mostly doing now is through the help of MYEEP. Without this organization, my freshmen year will be hell yeah...boring. I will cherish the moments we have together. I met lots of new friends and gained lots of confidence as well as skills that will be essential to me for the rest of my life. The first motive that drove me to MYEEP was the money..well it still kind of is right now. However after two semesters, I drifted my motives. I really think MYEEP helped me a lot. If I were to do MYEEP another time without the wage, I would be willing to do it again! I LOVE MYEEP! Thanks CYC for this opportunity. I will look forward to become a CIT and engage in another program under CYC!

On Friday, we had an ethnic food festival in history class. Yum! Got to try different cultural foods and some junk snacks too. I made ham and cheese quesadilla. I had fun in the process of making it. After so many tries of making it, I reached perfections! :) I am happy that my dish was gone by the end of class!! I always had the fear that what I bring to the party will not be popular and I will end up bringing it home. When I was in 7th grade, I brought 5 cans of pringles and it sure was not popular. I was afraid that it would happen again. Luckily, it did not!! :)

Although this week was a bit crazy, I had fun and enjoyed it! Enjoy your day like the best day everyday! LOL..does it even make sense?

Sather Gate!!!

Saturday was super fun...well at least most of the part. CAL-DAY!! Went to UC Berkeley! Got some free perks and an awesome visit! Got a chocolate chip green tea ice cream sandwich from CREAM!! I don't know why people like CREAM, but I think the quality is so-so. Anyways, it was delicious!! =D Also, I had $10 to buy lunch--got Fish Cake Ramen. UCB is enormous and pretty. I would love to go there!! Definitely will apply there for college. I love the myth about the two brothers fighting over a girl and coming up with different numbers of the rooms in the building. Haha, alos the 4.0 Hill. Thanks MYEEP for this awesome field trip. Thanks UC Berkeley's faculty and students for the amazing "open house" arrangements! I LOVE UC BERKELEY!! GO BEARS! GO BEARS!
